This year is the 75th anniversary of VE Day and we’d love you to spend it with us! Limpsfield Royal British Legion Club will also be hosting its own VE Day event on Bank Holiday Friday, 8 May 2020.
The Royal British Legion is asking the nation to remember the impact that leaving, missing and returning home has on service men and women and their loved ones – then and now – and especially reflecting on the scale of service and sacrifice made by men and women of the Second World War generation.
A special programme of events marking VE 75 will take place over the Early May Bank Holiday 2020 in Central London and across the country.
Starting at 2pm, there will be a street party style event and BBQ (depending on the great British weather!), 1940s music and a fabulous live singer (from 5pm) Maddie Hart belting out some wartime tunes. Lots of bunting, decorations and seating in the hall and garden and a festive and jolly atmosphere for all the family.
Bar and food on sale. No entrance fee. Come and join in the very special celebrations, support your local club and the Royal British Legion charity.
